Embedded Artificial Intelligence Architect

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of embedded AI solutions for satellite systems and software-defined satellites.
• Provide technical leadership across the full AI/ML lifecycle, from concept and architecture to implementation and deployment.
• Define a phased roadmap for transitioning from ground-based prototypes to on-board inference.
• Develop and evaluate AI/ML approaches for network traffic prediction, anti-jamming mitigation, and cognitive radio functions.
• Design and implement complex simulators and digital twins to generate representative training data.
• Partner with system engineers and software developers to integrate AI capabilities into end-to-end solutions.
• Author and maintain comprehensive technical documentation regarding architecture, design, and verification.

Requirements

• Sc. in AI/ML, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in embedded software development.
• Hands-on experience prototyping or deploying ML models on embedded targets (e.g., Raspberry Pi 5, Versal/FPGA-class devices).
• Strong Python skills with experience in TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Ability to write production-quality code in C/C++.
• Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French is an asset.
• Ability to obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in AI/ML, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with networking protocols (e.g., DVB-S2X, 5G NTN, IP routing).
• Knowledge of CUDA or GPU optimization for model training and inference.
• Experience with RF systems and signal processing fundamentals.
• Experience with embedded Linux and disciplined software development practices (CI/CD, code reviews).
