About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external manufacturing partners, managing order entry for Corning-supplied components and cable.
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues by coordinating with Planning, Logistics, and Quality teams.
  • Partner with global planners to align on allocation priorities and execute material allocation strategies.
  • Execute allocation of critical components to ensure uninterrupted production at external manufacturing sites.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing plants to expedite shipments and meet delivery commitments.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate material shortages through coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain external manufacturers as customers within SAP and ensure accurate master data.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in supply chain planning, production scheduling, materials planning, procurement, logistics, or operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global, matrixed environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a technical field.
  • 1+ years of supply chain experience in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP ECC or S/4HANA.
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience or certification.
  • APICS or similar supply chain certification.
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership experience.
