About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day facility activities including loading, unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending, and storage of goods
- Manage and develop hourly employees, providing training, performance feedback, and maintaining department discipline
- Ensure personnel safety through strict compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory agency standards
- Execute work schedules and prioritize shift resources to maximize operational efficiency
- Utilize mechanical and electrical expertise to troubleshoot and maintain production systems, utilities, and buildings
- Implement and analyze preventive maintenance schedules and inspections to minimize equipment downtime
- Maintain a safe, sanitary workplace in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with significant On-the-Job Training (OJT) or a Bachelor's degree preferred
- Technical Certification in a relevant field
- 2-3 years of experience in team development and leadership
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with mechanical and electrical expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email communications
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders and working at heights
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for report writing and team coordination
