About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a campus liaison between the University of Portland and North Portland Elementary School SUN programs (James John Elementary and Ceasar Chavez).
- Recruit and coordinate University of Portland students to volunteer for after-school tutoring and food pantry support.
- Attend mandatory Campus Volunteer Coordinator workshops at the start of each semester.
- Maintain updated agency contact information and participant lists for Moreau Center files.
- Track and report volunteer engagement and other relevant data.
- Facilitate transportation for volunteers using Moreau Center-assigned vehicles.
- Support program administration, event planning, and direct service tasks as determined by the partner organization.
Requirements
- Willingness to commit to an intensive volunteer experience.
- Prior work or volunteer experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An authentic desire to serve and impact the local community.
- Interest in education, social work, social justice, or supporting underserved youth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience recruiting and coordinating peers.
