About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide crisis intervention and behavior management to support student learning
- Conduct individual and group counseling for students
- Develop and implement social and emotional development curriculum
- Serve as a Case Manager and member of the Child Study Team
- Strengthen parent and family involvement and community partnerships
- Evaluate students' personal, family, and socio-economic backgrounds
- Collaborate with educators to plan school-based interventions
- Manage records, documentation, and compliance activities
- Participate in school-wide duties such as supervision and school events
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work
- LMSW or LCSW licensure
- Valid School Social Worker Certification from NYDOE
- Experience working in urban schools (preferred)
- Alignment with Uncommon’s educational philosophy
