About the Company

East Harlem Scholars Academies are community-based Pre-K to 12 public charter schools operated by East Harlem Tutorial Program (EHTP). EHTP is a network of public charter schools focused on significantly increasing the college graduation rate in East Harlem through a commitment to racial equity and anti-racism work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver content and instruction alongside a co-teacher to all students in the class
• Collaborate with grade and instructional leadership teams to internalize and develop curriculum
• Track and measure student progress, including managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Create a positive classroom and school culture using restorative practices
• Set ambitious instructional goals based on backwards planning and objective-driven instruction
• Establish routines to maintain a purposeful, supportive, and safe learning environment
• Engage in continuous professional development and reflection

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in relevant educational positions
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• New York State teaching certification for teaching Students With Disabilities (required)
• Demonstrated success in raising achievement levels for at-risk students
• Commitment to racial equity and working with diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish (speaking, writing, and understanding)
