Electronics Technician

Responsibilities

• Install, integrate, and test Fiber Optics Terminal Systems (FOTS) and Radio Control Equipment (RCE) including VHF and UHF systems
• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate audio equipment and voice communication systems to the component level
• Replace components, wire circuits, and repair electronic equipment using tools like digital multi-meters, signal generators, and oscilloscopes
• Perform soldering, splicing, and installation of various wire types including coaxial and shielded wires
• Assist with site preparation for voice switches and install sensors, cabling, and radios in fast-paced, all-weather environments
• Utilize electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to diagnose malfunctions in transistors, integrated circuits, and motors

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing Fiber Optics and Radio Control Systems
• Ability to travel 100% within the USA
• Ability to climb towers up to 50 feet
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical movements
• Ability to pass a federal background check to meet customer security requirements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and email

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced electronics training from a junior college, military service, or trade school
• Experience maintaining and modifying complex transmitting and receiving equipment such as radar, telecommunication, or navigational aids
• Ability to evaluate equipment performance and recommend circuitry changes to improve reliability
