Electronics Technician - Fiber Optics/Radio Control System

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, testing, and repair of fiber optics, radio control systems, and complex electronic equipment.
• Support site preparation for FENS racks, including providing critical power circuits and grounding.
• Install fiber paths, cable trays, conduits, and LTE antenna cabling.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, audio equipment, and voice communication systems to the component level.
• Solder, splice, and repair various wire types including coaxial, shielded, and stranded wires.
• Utilize technical data such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to diagnose malfunctions.
• Install sensors, cabling, computers, radios, and satellites in fast-paced field environments.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Ability to travel up to 100% within the FAA Central Service Area (all travel expenses paid).
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.).
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Internet, and Email.
• Ability to meet customer security requirements, including a federal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced electronics training from a junior college, military service, or trade school.
• 5+ years of experience in testing, repairing, and installing Fiber Optics or Radio Control Systems (RCE).
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting radar, telecommunication, or navigational aids.
• Strong technical knowledge of electronics principles to evaluate equipment performance and reliability.
