About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repairs, calibration, and adjustments of analytical laboratory equipment
- Conduct routine preventive and corrective maintenance tasks
- Provide technical support using diagnostic and service manuals under supervision
- Assist with electronic/electrical and mechanical fabrication on custom equipment and tools
- Support the development and modification of proprietary devices
- Perform checks and repairs on supporting systems including cooling, gas supply, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain shop organization and manage parts storage inventory
- Adhere to all established safety regulations and ALS health and safety policies
Requirements
- High school graduation required
- 2 years of experience in electronics or a related electronics technology field
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, multi-meters, thermometers, and data loggers
- Strong problem-solving skills and manual dexterity for intricate tasks
- Ability to work weekends and stand for a full shift
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary engineering, electrical, or electronic coursework
- Experience with electronic fabrication
