About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, calibration, and adjustments of analytical laboratory equipment
  • Conduct routine preventive and corrective maintenance tasks
  • Provide technical support using diagnostic and service manuals under supervision
  • Assist with electronic/electrical and mechanical fabrication on custom equipment and tools
  • Support the development and modification of proprietary devices
  • Perform checks and repairs on supporting systems including cooling, gas supply, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Maintain shop organization and manage parts storage inventory
  • Adhere to all established safety regulations and ALS health and safety policies

Requirements

  • High school graduation required
  • 2 years of experience in electronics or a related electronics technology field
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, multi-meters, thermometers, and data loggers
  • Strong problem-solving skills and manual dexterity for intricate tasks
  • Ability to work weekends and stand for a full shift
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary engineering, electrical, or electronic coursework
  • Experience with electronic fabrication
