About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, layout, fabricate, modify, troubleshoot, repair, test, calibrate, and inspect a wide range of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment.
- Receive hands-on training in soldering, complex cabling, harnessing, Printed Wire Assemblies (PWA), PCB, magnetics, and rack systems.
- Design and prepare electromechanical layouts and drawings using CAD/CAM software.
- Plan and schedule the fabrication of special test equipment, wiring, harnesses, cables, cases, and chassis.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and functional testing and analysis of completed units using electronic test equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers, management, and mentors to address design and manufacturability issues.
- Maintain required records using computerized databases and follow industry-standard safety practices.
Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Electronics Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or Advanced Systems Technology in Electronics with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater, OR 4 years of relevant hands-on work history.
- Must attach a copy of unofficial transcripts with your resume (scanned as a single document).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Understanding of ISO Quality Systems Requirements and IPC-A610 acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.
- Experience working in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- 3-5 years of hands-on electronics fabrication experience.
