About the role
Responsibilities
- Directly manage, mentor, and expand a team of both junior and senior electronics engineers
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define and architect next-generation electronic systems
- Oversee the entire hardware lifecycle, from design and development to implementation and verification
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules to align hardware development with program timelines
- Drive the design process, including specification, component selection, circuit board design, and system-level integration
- Lead the team through hands-on debugging, board bring-up, and system validation
- Play a key role in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new team members
- Provide expert support to production and operations teams for successful hardware deployment
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or a similar technical field
- 5+ years of professional experience in a fast-paced product design and development environment
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing complex electronic hardware from concept to production
- Proven experience in building and managing engineering teams
- Demonstrated ability to design, build, and test hardware from scratch
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with photovoltaics
- Experience with Li-ion batteries and battery management systems
- Experience with magnetics in power electronics
- Knowledge of radiation effects on electronic components
