About the role
About the Company
Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction software-defined and autonomous, creating a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings are constructed with minimal labour.
Responsibilities
- Support prototyping and development of electronic systems for autonomous construction robots
- Build and test early-stage hardware to turn schematics into functioning systems
- Perform electronics testing and debugging to validate new and revised designs
- Iterate on prototypes in the workshop, revising designs for sensors, power, motor control, and communication hardware
- Participate in on-site field trials and deployments to capture real-world performance data
- Maintain and troubleshoot the current robot fleet to ensure deployment readiness
- Assist with light electronics assembly and wiring tasks
- Handle PCB design and PCBA preparation to transition prototypes to production boards
Requirements
- BSc, MBO, HBO, or similar degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Strong foundation in electronics fundamentals
- Hands-on experience prototyping and testing circuits
- Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and lab power supplies
- Ability to read and interpret existing schematics
- Eagerness to work in a fast-moving, collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BLDC motor control (driving, commutating, or tuning)
- Experience with RF and wireless communications (UWB, BLE, ZigBee)
- Familiarity with Altium ECAD
