Electronic Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment malfunctions to support production.
• Provide engineering assistance for the installation, layout design, fabrication, and debugging of PLC-based industrial control systems.
• Install and debug new equipment and perform modifications to repair production machinery.
• Manage startup and shutdown functions for department equipment according to production schedules.
• Support the parts department by ensuring spare electronic component inventory is available and performing shop repairs.
• Communicate process or mechanical abnormalities to leadership to facilitate timely corrections.
• Maintain accurate production, batch, and quality records.
• Ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work environment in compliance with EH&S procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electronic Technician or equivalent education.
• Working knowledge of industrial control systems and programming languages used in machinery.
• Ability to work from schematics, sketches, and written/verbal instructions.
• Proficiency with electrical (480V & under) and electronic test equipment for debugging solid-state systems.
• Ability to work overtime or alternate schedules as required by business needs.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Electromechanical, Electronics, or a similar field.
• 4-year equivalent industrial or military electronics background.
