Electronic Technician

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair communication and transmission systems
• Troubleshoot and isolate problems at the Line Replacement Unit (LRU) or component level using test equipment and schematics
• Perform software upgrades on sustaining systems
• Install and maintain transmission systems using copper wire, optical fiber, or Ethernet
• Coordinate with other crafts to ensure job completeness
• Maintain documentation, reports, and logs in electronic databases
• Process support requests for Paging and Operational Intercommunication Systems (OIS)

Requirements

• Associate of Science or Technical Trade School degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field
• Four years of related experience or completion of a DOL-recognized apprenticeship
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and work orders
• Understanding of electrical theory and circuit diagnostics
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a NASA background investigation
• Valid Florida Driver’s License
• Ability to pass initial and random drug testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cable fabrication and connector potting
• Experience with optical fiber and Ethernet transmission media
