About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic materials failure analysis and component evaluation for devices ranging from passive components to complex microcircuits.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using laboratory equipment including digital photo-documentation, electrical test equipment, Sono-scan, and SEM-EDS.
  • Manage the full analysis lifecycle, including initial evaluation, photo-documentation, electrical testing, and destructive testing.
  • Write comprehensive final reports that substantiate failure conclusions and present technical findings.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical component materials such as ceramics, glasses, metal wire bonding, component staking, conformal coating, and solder.

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in electronic component failure analysis.
  • Experience analyzing microcircuits and both active and passive electrical components.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain an interim U.S. government issued Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science.
  • Knowledge of Government Component Documents and specifications (e.g., MIL-STD, MIL-PRF, MIL-HDBK).
  • Experience testing RF devices and interconnects.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as DMM, Curve Tracers, and Parametric Analyzers.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and perform circuit analysis.
  • Strong data collection and technical writing skills.
