Electronic Health Record Specialist

Responsibilities

• Utilize and support an ONC-certified Electronic Health Record system for patient encounters and medical record management
• Maintain EHR environment to support interoperability and connectivity to government interfaces
• Ensure EHR system provides remote access and data accessibility for authorized personnel
• Provide initial and ongoing EHR training to all users
• Serve as a primary or secondary point of contact for EHR data and reporting requests
• Maintain secure patient medical records in accordance with retention, storage, and confidentiality controls
• Process lawful medical record disclosures in compliance with HIPAA and other federal/state requirements
• Support patient transfer and continuity-of-care workflows by ensuring complete documentation transmission
• Protect sensitive information by restricting access and reporting security incidents
• Support language access through interpretation and translation services

Requirements

• Experience in a healthcare setting as an EHR Specialist, trainer, or similar role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
• Ability to pass a medical examination and a thorough background investigation
• U.S. citizenship and five-year U.S. residency
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 pounds and performing CPR

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in HIM, health informatics, or healthcare administration
• Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish
• Experience in detention, correctional, or residential healthcare settings
