About the role
Responsibilities
- Assemble, modify, inspect, troubleshoot, or repair/rework PCBs, cables, and other electrical equipment
- Perform precision soldering work for assembly and repairs
- Assist senior workforce members in assembling systems to meet project and test schedules
- Provide support for field activities, including testing at environmental test facilities
- Perform quality inspections using multimeters, microscopes, and specialized test equipment
- Assist with electronics lab management tasks, such as parts inventory
Requirements
- High school diploma plus 3 or more years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to acquire and maintain a U.S. DOE Q security clearance
- Ability to travel within the US up to 25% to support functional electrical testing and program needs
- Ability to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in an engineering or electrical field of study
- Intermediate to advanced solder and rework skills
- Experience with inventory and documentation management
- Experience with quality inspection of cables and PCB boards (e.g., continuity checks, voltage probing, and microscope inspection)
- Experience with the fabrication and assembly of test fixtures and enclosures (3D printed or machined)
- Experience working with classified and hazardous materials/hardware
