Electromechanical Technologist

Responsibilities

• Assemble, modify, inspect, troubleshoot, or repair/rework PCBs, cables, and other electrical equipment
• Perform precision soldering work for assembly and repairs
• Assist senior workforce members in assembling systems to meet project and test schedules
• Provide support for field activities, including testing at environmental test facilities
• Perform quality inspections using multimeters, microscopes, and specialized test equipment
• Assist with electronics lab management tasks, such as parts inventory

Requirements

• High school diploma plus 3 or more years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to acquire and maintain a U.S. DOE Q security clearance
• Ability to travel within the US up to 25% to support functional electrical testing and program needs
• Ability to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in an engineering or electrical field of study
• Intermediate to advanced solder and rework skills
• Experience with inventory and documentation management
• Experience with quality inspection of cables and PCB boards (e.g., continuity checks, voltage probing, and microscope inspection)
• Experience with the fabrication and assembly of test fixtures and enclosures (3D printed or machined)
• Experience working with classified and hazardous materials/hardware
