Electromechanical Sustaining Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead first-pass electrical, embedded, and firmware investigations of field and production issues
• Perform board- and system-level debug using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective action on electromechanical failures
• Translate field symptoms into scoped engineering work packages for EE and firmware teams
• Serve as a technical bridge across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software disciplines
• Create and release ECNs and update BOMs, drawings, and supporting documentation
• Develop and execute test methods to validate fixes and verify compliance
• Support component end-of-life and obsolescence engineering activities

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Electromechanical/Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering
• 3-6 years of experience in product development, hardware sustaining, or systems integration
• Hands-on electrical and embedded debugging experience
• Familiarity with communication protocols like I²C, SPI, UART, or CAN
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action on electromechanical systems
• Ability to read board schematics and mechanical drawings/CAD

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Arena PLM
• Experience with IoT or connected hardware products
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques
• Knowledge of reliability engineering tools (MTBF, MTTF)
• Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS or similar 3D CAD software
• Ability to travel up to 10%
