Electromechanical Designer-Cable

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-domain project teams through all phases of electromechanical cable design, from initial concept to series production
• Ensure the planning and execution of all engineering tasks following the ZF-CVS product development process
• Manage project goals regarding time, cost, and quality
• Define validation plans and review/approve test results
• Perform problem-solving for design reviews, test failures, and field claims
• Act as a process expert to improve supplier production capabilities, including cable localization, injection, overmolding, stamping, and press-fit pins
• Collaborate with local engineering teams and global Cable & ECU housing design teams

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, material forming, or a related field (focus on automotive engineering or mechatronics preferred)
• Solid experience in complex cable harness, ECU housing, connection system, and press-fit pin design and processes
• Experience in cable harness and ECU housing connection technology testing and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
• Knowledge of 3D CAD systems (specifically Creo), PLM, and PTC requirements management is beneficial
