Electromechanical Design Engineering Intern

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is a joint venture between two industry leaders focused on addressing the challenges of electric vehicles through technology, including operating systems, zonal controllers, and cloud connectivity solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support and develop Proof of Concept work for program success
• Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for hardware modules
• Perform schematic capture and component selection
• Generate Internal Part Numbers in the Arena PLM database
• Manage drawing releases and component release cycles
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Studio, Architecture, and Mechanical
• Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues at the board and system level
• Maintain component and system-level Design Verification Plan and Report (DVPR)

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program at an accredited US university
• Proficient in Electrical Engineering fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
• Understanding of electronics, packaging, and hardware
• Previous experience with vehicle-level component programs
• Knowledge of automotive hardware/software development processes
• Familiarity with PLM and component release cycles
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, USB, I2C, or SPI
