About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform electromagnetic effects analysis, testing, and design to ensure EMI/EMC compliance for air and space platforms
- Develop EMI/EMC Control Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Reports in accordance with MIL-STD-461/464 and DO-160
- Coordinate and verify EMI/EMC requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects
- Implement mitigation mechanisms to assure compatibility and safety of new and existing systems
- Assist with hardware and software testing in both laboratory and on-aircraft environments
- Perform specialized analyses including Nuclear Hardening, HIRF/Lightning, RF COSITE, and Antenna Coupling
- Support project management by tracking status, generating bids, and providing work statements and budgets
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
- 2 or more years of related work experience
- Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
- Experience with MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC standards
- Familiarity with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience (Experienced Level) or 7+ years of experience (Expert Level)
- ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a Master's/PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Active U.S. Security Clearance
- iNARTE Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer Certification
- Experience with TEMPEST analysis, requirements development, and digital signal processing
- Knowledge of Power Quality requirements and testing using MIL-STD-704
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB and software tools such as LTSpice, MathCAD, or AutoCAD
