Electrode Coating Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate electrode coating, drying, calendaring, slitting, and material handling equipment
• Prepare and load coating materials, slurries, rolls, and substrates
• Monitor coating parameters including thickness, web tension, line speed, and oven temperatures
• Inspect coated electrodes for defects such as streaks, wrinkles, or pinholes
• Perform in-process measurements and quality checks using gauges and microscopes
• Record production data and process parameters in manufacturing systems
• Assist in machine setup, changeovers, cleaning, and preventive maintenance
• Troubleshoot minor equipment or process issues
• Maintain compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and chemical handling protocols
• Maintain organized work areas according to 5S standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of hands-on machine setup experience in a manufacturing environment
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to write and maintain accurate SOPs and technical documentation
• Basic computer skills for data entry
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, sit, climb, or squat for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Two-year technical or Associate Degree in manufacturing, industrial technology, or engineering technology
• Previous experience in battery manufacturing
