Electro Mechanic I

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on production and utility equipment using RCA techniques
• Perform maintenance tasks, repairs, and modifications in accordance with work orders and service standards
• Document all maintenance activities accurately using computerized maintenance management systems (CWORKS)
• Maintain electro-mechanical systems, including pneumatic and hydraulic operations, electric motors, conveyors, and air compressors
• Execute routine preventative and predictive maintenance, including daily checklist and equipment verification
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and adhere to all HSE policies and procedures

Requirements

• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment (dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, etc.) to .0001 of an inch
• Extensive knowledge of assembly and detail engineering drawings, including geometric tolerancing
• Experience with 440/480v electrical components
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC hardware/software and variable speed drivers
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
• Ability to work any shift (including nights, weekends, and holidays) and overtime as required
• Must be able to pass Sonoco Category 2 Electrical requirements and certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program in a technical field
• 3 or more years of maintenance experience in a closure manufacturing or metal stamping plant
