About the role

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop electrical systems for mobile and stationary applications, including lithium-ion battery packs, electric motors, and power electronics.
  • Lead the electrical integration of charging systems, traction (e-axle), fuel cells, and power distribution boxes.
  • Perform specification, gap analysis, and system design release approvals.
  • Conduct system FMEA and prepare Safety/System DFMEA for high and low voltage lithium batteries.
  • Identify and evaluate electric devices, electronic controllers, and power electronics such as VFDs, DC-DC converters, and high voltage boost inverters.
  • Develop component specifications and collaborate on electrical system designs using Creo Schematics.
  • Lead prototype and engineering builds, including the review of electrical harnesses.
  • Develop test plans in collaboration with suppliers and monitor progress to avoid delays.
  • Perform root cause and component failure analysis to identify corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in embedded software or a minor in computer science.
  • Proficiency with Matlab – Simulink, Dymola, C++, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Creo Schematics.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration products.
  • Ability to solve complex and challenging customer requests.
