Electrician

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment including gas mixers, burners, air compressors, and plant lighting
• Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and program VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, motors, and related electrical equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on assigned electrical systems and equipment
• Comply with all job safety practices, plant directives, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) guidelines
• Identify electrical inefficiencies and coordinate with supervisors to resolve potential problems
• Assist in the design, experimentation, or installation of plant equipment and electrical production procedures

Requirements

• Technical school training or equivalent electrical/electronics work experience
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming, troubleshooting, HMI, and industrial electrical networking
• Working knowledge of multimeters, solid state circuitry, electronics, and AC/DC motors
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
• Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or sit for extended periods
• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (4 days on, 4 days off)

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree
• 2 years of job-related experience
• Experience with Signode strappers, Videojet and Domino printers, and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of hazardous material handling and working in confined spaces
