About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment including gas mixers, burners, air compressors, and plant lighting
- Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and program VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, motors, and related electrical equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned electrical systems and equipment
- Comply with all job safety practices, plant directives, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) guidelines
- Identify electrical inefficiencies and coordinate with supervisors to resolve potential problems
- Assist in the design, experimentation, or installation of plant equipment and electrical production procedures
Requirements
- Technical school training or equivalent electrical/electronics work experience
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming, troubleshooting, HMI, and industrial electrical networking
- Working knowledge of multimeters, solid state circuitry, electronics, and AC/DC motors
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
- Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (4 days on, 4 days off)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree
- 2 years of job-related experience
- Experience with Signode strappers, Videojet and Domino printers, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of hazardous material handling and working in confined spaces
