Electrician

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical systems for running vessels and oversee overhauling and repowering processes
• Install electrical systems onboard vessels in accordance with Subchapter M regulations
• Calibrate, test, inspect, and troubleshoot electronic devices including PLCs, transmitters, and controllers
• Assist in the design, engineering, and procurement of electrical equipment and instrumentation systems
• Develop procedures and documentation for USCG approval for equipment upgrades
• Support Chief Engineers with hands-on maintenance and repair tasks during overhauls
• Train chief and junior engineers on electrical systems and procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of experience as a marine electrician
• NFPA 70E certification or ability to obtain it
• Valid TWIC Card
• High level of knowledge in PLCs, AC, and DC controls and systems
• Physical ability to transit vessel environments, including climbing and working in confined spaces
• Ability to work in extreme weather and on a rotating on-call schedule
