Electrician I

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance of primary and secondary electrical systems within the facility
• Install, test, repair, and replace lights, power circuitry, and electrical/electronic equipment
• Maintain and repair alarm systems, electric motors, machinery, and appliances
• Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national codes
• Direct and supervise other mechanics and helpers

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as an electrician
• At least three (3) years of experience taking the lead in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems
• Current New Jersey Electrical License or Qualified Journeyman Electrician Certification (N.J.A.C. 13:31-5.1)
• Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record
• Thorough knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting over 50 pounds and working on roofs, scaffolding, or ladders
