Electrician I

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, assemble, and wire new control panels according to N.E.C. and engineering instructions
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs
• Use tools such as Voltmeters, Ammeters, and Oscilloscopes for troubleshooting and schematic drawing
• Maintain and troubleshoot relay control circuits, including ladder logic and latching circuits
• Manage electrical power distribution and lighting circuits (DC to 500V and AC to 480V)
• Operate industrial vehicles including forklifts, man lifts, and cherry pickers
• Perform maintenance on photoelectric, proximity, hall effect, and mechanical sensors
• Maintain accurate recordkeeping and communicate effectively with leadership and other departments

Requirements

• Electrical Technical School Graduate or equivalent trade/military experience
• Minimum of five (5) years of electrical trade experience
• Current State of Connecticut E2 License or higher
• Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and Lock-Out/Tag Out procedures
• Ability to work at heights of up to 40 feet
• Proficiency with PC DOS and Windows, including understanding of serial, Ethernet, and LAN communications
• Availability to work 3rd shift, including overtime, weekends, and on-call for emergencies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programs
• Experience using an Oscilloscope
• Knowledge of Servo drives
