Electrician

Responsibilities

• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on job specifications and local codes
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes
• Inspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for repair
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and ensure conformance to safety codes
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems and use hand tools to locate and correct causes of breakdowns
• Install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures using ladders, scaffolds, or roofs
• Place conduit, pipes, or tubing inside designated partitions and pull insulated wires through to complete circuits
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as digging trenches for conduit or lifting heavy objects
• Assist with mechanical maintenance duties and support other maintenance personnel throughout the facility

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Industrial Electrician I: 1-5 years of experience in the Industrial Electrical Field
• Industrial Electrician II: 5+ years of experience in the Industrial Electrical Field
