Electrician 'A'

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform, and troubleshoot the layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of low and medium voltage electrical equipment
• Diagnose problems and repair or replace component parts including transformers, switchgear, power centers, and control equipment
• Maintain power and lighting distribution systems, instruments, and meters
• Run conduit and wiring for various electrical installations
• Interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams to determine job requirements and material needs
• Order necessary materials from distributors

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of the electrical trade equivalent to completed accredited apprentice training
• At least three years of additional practical experience in the electrical trade
• Knowledge of National Electrical Codes
• Valid driver's license with the ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
• Must provide own hand tools (e.g., pliers, screwdrivers, wire cutters, channel locks, etc.)
• Ability to work at heights (ladders, scaffolds, bucket trucks) and in confined spaces
