Electrician 1st Year

Responsibilities

• Install switchgear, rough and finish wiring, and control systems
• Install system components and wiring in compliance with applicable standards
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical control circuits for motors and various electrical devices
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance
• Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques
• Assist in instructing and coaching apprentices

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams
• Strong manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, walk, stand for long periods, and perform strenuous labor
• Commitment to quality, safety, and following strict safety policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of college, vocational, or technical training
• Relevant electrical credentials and certifications
• Experience working in a busy manufacturing or panel shop environment
