About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low-voltage systems, sensors, and wiring harnesses.
  • Support mechanical integration activities including equipment mounting, cable routing, and hardware fit checks.
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings to support installation and fault isolation.
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical inspections to ensure hardware conforms to design intent and safety standards.
  • Document field observations, test results, corrective actions, and as-built conditions accurately.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and support design change processes by evaluating technical feasibility.
  • Serve as a technical mentor for field technicians, providing guidance on wiring practices and hardware installation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to plan and execute field work safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related) preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on field engineering, electrical troubleshooting, or hardware integration experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance (US Citizenship required).
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting low-voltage circuits, sensors, and signal paths.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal analyzers.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to work in varied field environments, including industrial, laboratory, and outdoor settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or shipboard environments.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior technical personnel.
  • Familiarity with engineering change control and configuration management.
  • Proficiency with CAD/EDA tools such as AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 or NFPA 70E.
