Electrical Technician Instructor

Responsibilities

• Teach electrical theory, wiring methods, systems, and troubleshooting in classroom and lab settings
• Deliver engaging instruction aligned with industry standards, codes, and workforce expectations
• Instruct students on the proper and safe use of tools, materials, and equipment, emphasizing OSHA standards
• Create a positive classroom and lab environment that supports student engagement and retention
• Maintain and update lesson plans, instructional materials, and lab activities
• Monitor and document student attendance, academic progress, and performance
• Accurately enter grades and required documentation into school systems
• Ensure classrooms and labs remain clean, organized, safe, and fully equipped
• Support student success through coaching, mentoring, and proactive engagement
• Participate in required training, in-service sessions, and staff meetings
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and safety regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of four years of hands-on experience in the electrical trade OR three years of teaching experience in electrical programs
• Strong understanding of electrical tools, systems, codes, and safety practices
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Highly organized and dependable

Preferred Qualifications

• NCCER ICTP Certification
• OSHA 30-hour safety certification
• Current CPR certification
• Electrical Journeyman or Master License
