Electrical Systems Engineer - Modeling & Control

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced control strategies for power electronics, electric drives, battery management systems (BMS), and electrical network stability
• Develop high-fidelity, physics-based models of aircraft electrical power generation, distribution, and conversion systems using MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape
• Perform dynamic simulations and analyses, including load flow, voltage stability, and transient response, to optimize performance and ensure aerospace compliance
• Develop and execute comprehensive verification and validation plans using Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments
• Conduct trade-off studies for novel electrical architectures and lead optimization studies to improve efficiency, weight, and reliability
• Contribute to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities by maintaining system models throughout the engineering lifecycle

Requirements

• Expertise in control system design and advanced modeling and simulation
• Proficiency in developing high-fidelity physics-based models
• Experience with system analysis, including dynamic simulations and stability studies
• Strong background in verification and validation processes (MIL, SIL, HIL)
• Experience with MBSE integration and lifecycle modeling
