Electrical Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical engineering activities across Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) systems
• Support system engineering activities related to energy evacuation systems
• Provide electrical expertise for building pilots, including Power Evacuation Platforms and Electrical Buildings
• Contribute to technical preparation, review, and acceptance of major electrical contracts
• Provide back-office engineering support during commissioning phases
• Liaise with the Joint Design Office (JDO) to resolve technical queries

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Proven experience in electrical systems engineering (HV/LV)
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects
• Knowledge of power distribution systems and electrical design standards
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in nuclear projects or highly regulated industries (energy, oil & gas, defence)
• Knowledge of CI-BOP scope and associated systems
• Understanding of electrical buildings, substations, and power evacuation platforms
• Exposure to commissioning activities and on-site support
• Experience reviewing technical documentation and contractor deliverables
• Knowledge of UK and international electrical standards (IEC, BS, EDF)
• Chartered status or working towards CEng
