Electrical Switchgear Engineer

Responsibilities

• Participate in defining mandates and drafting service offers
• Perform project cost estimations
• Act as a project manager and/or discipline lead for various project scales
• Supervise and execute the design of switchgear projects
• Supervise the production of plans, including signing and sealing them
• Conduct technical studies and draft documents such as calculation notes, specifications, and reports
• Monitor project progress against budgets and schedules using earned value and cost performance index (CPI) principles
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other business units
• Establish and maintain client relationships as a company ambassador

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical switchgear and substations
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
• Fluency in both French and English (written and oral)
• Valid ASP Construction card
• Basic knowledge of electrical installation safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in consulting engineering
• Experience with Hydro-Québec projects
• Proficiency in ETAP, EasyPower, or CDEGS software
