Electrical Switches Design Responsible Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical hardware design and release for electrical switches and switch modules
• Develop technical specifications in support of quoting and sourcing processes
• Manage supplier resources to meet cost, timing, and quality targets
• Develop electrical design verification and validation plans, including virtual and physical testing
• Define electrical interfaces conforming with vehicle EE architecture, power distribution, and network communication
• Collaborate with software and systems teams on switch logic, diagnostics, and fault handling
• Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a relevant field
• 5 to 10 years of experience in electromechanical component design, specifically switch design
• Expertise in human-machine interfaces (HMI) and electromechanical systems
• Proficiency with computer-aided engineering (CAE)
• Knowledge of diagnostics, DTCs, and switch fault handling
• Experience with supplier management and engagement
• Experience with industrial design studio and CMF requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with light and color harmony
• Experience with switch haptics and mechanical design
• VW group experience
