About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and lead all electrical installation activities on-site for hydroelectric power projects.
- Lead a team of electrical supervisors and electricians to ensure safe and cost-effective execution.
- Prepare electrical installation plans, including man-hour estimates, material quantities, and schedules.
- Manage site staffing requirements, including supervision and labor optimization.
- Monitor project progress, analyze installation costs, and prepare estimates for site change orders.
- Coordinate temporary/construction power mobilization and site power supply.
- Review design scopes, installation manuals, and technical documentation.
- Follow up with engineering regarding change requests and non-compliance issues.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar supervisory role.
- Proven experience working on medium to large-scale Canadian unionized construction sites.
- Strong leadership experience in industrial electrical installation.
- In-depth knowledge of the Canadian electrical code (CSA C22.1).
- Excellent understanding of electrical equipment used in industrial settings.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal); French is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman certification or Red Seal certification.
- Previous experience specifically within hydro-electric power projects.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6.
