About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute plans, programs, and processes to maintain electrical equipment and systems across their lifecycle.
- Provide technical troubleshooting assistance to resolve electrical design, operation, and maintenance problems.
- Manage the refinery’s electrical equipment preventative and predictive maintenance programs, including asset strategies and monitoring plans.
- Lead investigations into recurring electrical equipment failures, reliability threats, and performance issues.
- Maintain and manage the plant’s electrical model utilizing ETAP software, including arc flash labeling programs.
- Perform and review electrical system studies, including arc-flash analysis, protection and coordination, and short circuit studies.
- Support refinery turnarounds through scope development, planning, and execution of electrical work scopes.
- Act as a champion for electrical safety across the Mandan Refinery and Dickinson Renewable Diesel Facility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-degree relevant experience (refining or petrochemical industry experience preferred).
- Proficiency in ETAP software for electrical power system studies.
- Working knowledge of industry standards including NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NEMA, and API.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel routinely between Mandan and Dickinson, ND.
- Ability to perform essential job functions including wearing required PPE, working at heights, and confined space entry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial electrical systems up to 15 kV class.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution and substation design.
- Familiarity with electrical maintenance and troubleshooting practices for industrial applications.
