About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for electrical, controls, and power distribution systems to support plant operations.
  • Offer technical expertise in low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems, including motor control centers, switchgear, and protection relays.
  • Support small and large cost and capital projects through technical guidance and review.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and instrument problems within operating areas.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) pertaining to electrical and controls systems.
  • Provide engineering assistance for Process Safety Management (PSM), including participation in PHAs and PSSRs.
  • Develop maintenance inspection procedures and technical recommendations for equipment repairs and upgrades.
  • Review preventive maintenance plans to ensure optimum process frequency and performance.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 1 year of similar work experience (internships and co-ops included).
  • Demonstrated experience with plant electrical, PLC, and instrument system design, maintenance, and operation.
  • Knowledge of motors, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, and soft-starters.
  • Experience with instrumentation including flow, pressure, temperature, level, pH, and conductivity.
  • Proficiency with PLCs (Rockwell preferred).
  • Strong commitment to safety awareness and execution.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP knowledge.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards such as NEC and ISA.
  • Experience in manufacturing or mining environments.
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and best practices for engineered solutions.
