About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure electrical systems are installed, tested, and performing according to project specifications and codes
- Review Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) results and track closure of open items with vendors
- Conduct proactive inspections through L1–L3 phases for equipment like switchgear, PDUs, UPS, and transformers
- Verify pre-functional and startup testing (L3) and coordinate Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) activities
- Validate integration between electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, checklists, and MOPs
- Compile commissioning reports and turnover packages including as-built documentation
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, and contractors to align quality activities
- Perform field inspections to verify conformance with drawings and electrical safety standards
- Identify non-conformances and recommend corrective actions
- Support commissioning handoff from L3 to L4 and verify closeout deliverables
- Collect and verify O&M manuals, training materials, and warranties for turnover
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical systems commissioning
- Experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities preferred
- Expertise in low, medium, and high-voltage electrical distribution systems
- Familiarity with IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and NETA standards
- Proficiency in commissioning software such as Cx Alloy, Bluebeam, or Procore
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel regularly to data center project sites
- Ability to work in construction and industrial environments
