About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Project Manager(s) on various projects
  • Review tender packages, shop drawings, and technical documentation
  • Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) and tender packages for contracts
  • Direct and supervise consultants and contractors during specific engagements
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction and verify progress
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required
  • Assist with project closeout and transition of assets to operations
  • Facilitate effective communication across stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience since graduation
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation from PEGNL
  • Experience in configuration and programming of PLCs and DCS
  • Experience in network architecture design and communication protocols
  • Experience in design or fabrication of electrical utility equipment (switchgear, transformers, etc.)
  • Experience in selecting, setting, and troubleshooting protective relays
  • Experience in protection and control systems, specifically hydro generation or electrical transmission
  • Experience in managing construction contracts and commissioning
