Electrical Principal Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction, mentorship, and oversight to engineers and designers
• Analyze and recommend technical solutions for problems of advanced complexity
• Develop and review electrical specifications, design criteria, and construction documents
• Perform complex engineering analyses including short circuit, load flow, and relay coordination
• Coordinate technical issues with project management, vendors, and clients
• Support procurement and construction administration, including RFI responses and vendor submittal reviews
• Ensure work complies with Project Quality Plans, applicable codes, and schedule baselines

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical (Power) Engineering
• Minimum of 15 years of related electrical engineering experience
• Significant experience providing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services on large industrial projects
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) tools
• Working knowledge of federal (DOE), state, and local electrical codes and standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience designing systems for nuclear facilities in accordance with ASME NQA-1 requirements
• Advanced knowledge of power system analysis software such as ETAP or SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL)
• Experience supporting U.S. Department of Energy or other federal government agencies
• Practical field experience supporting electrical design and construction
