Electrical or Electro-mechanical Engineering Technologist

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the production line through unit rework, troubleshooting, and assembly
• Assemble mechanical, optical, or electrical components and subassemblies following strict work instructions
• Perform visual inspections for defects and conduct functional tests to ensure proper component operation
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and system block diagrams
• Maintain accurate data, records, and documentation regarding assembly and testing
• Ensure work areas and equipment are kept clean, orderly, and compliant with safety regulations

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma or a related field
• 3-7 years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Eligibility for registration with the Controlled Goods Program
• Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAD software (Zuken preferred)
• Certification in J-STD-001 (Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies)
• Certification in IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies)
• Certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cable/Wire Harness Assemblies)
