Electrical & Mechanical Inspection Technician (Solar)

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections of utility-scale solar plants during the End of Warranty (EoW) phase.
• Carry out thermographic inspections (IR) on electrical components and systems.
• Perform torque verification and bolting checks on mechanical structures and tracker systems.
• Inspect key components including PV modules, tracker systems, DC/AC cabling, inverters, and combiner boxes.
• Support the inspection of MV/LV electrical systems to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Identify defects, non-conformities, and installation issues, and prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary on-site teams and ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in utility-scale solar projects (construction, QA/QC, or commissioning).
• Hands-on experience with thermography (IR cameras) and torque tools.
• Strong knowledge of Solar PV systems, including modules, trackers, inverters, and DC/AC systems.
• Experience with MV/LV electrical systems (high voltage experience is a plus).
• Ability to travel frequently to various project sites across the United States.
• Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
