About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan and author manufacturing procedures for Orion Spacecraft elements, including harness installation and component integration work instructions.
- Provide direct floor support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to solve production problems and determine build sequences.
- Design or select required tools and investigate design/manufacturing factors such as equipment availability and ease of assembly.
- Troubleshoot and correct anomalies or discrepant hardware.
- Perform producibility reviews on engineering drawings to assess manufacturability and material availability.
- Maintain all assembly documentation and interface with program personnel to report project status.
- Support 3rd shift operations (approximately 9:30pm–6am, Monday–Friday).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Experience with Engineering Change Management and evaluating non-conformant hardware.
- Minimum 1 year of experience using SAP or similar ERP/MES software for generating work instructions, routings, and MBOMs.
- Proven experience with harness assembly, instrumentation, and electrical component installations.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Creo Parametric, CreoView, EdgeCAM, or Delmia).
- Experience with configuration management databases such as Windchill or EPDM.
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site at Kennedy Space Center, FL, and availability to train on 1st shift before transitioning to 3rd shift.
