About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering of electrical line projects from initial definition and design through to construction support and permitting
- Define design requirements based on planning needs and existing standardized designs
- Ensure safe, optimized, and constructible designs in compliance with all applicable regulations
- Plan, contract, and supervise external engineering services to ensure quality and deadline compliance
- Coordinate and verify detailed engineering, including necessary mechanical and electrical calculations
- Draft and review technical specifications for assembly and supplies, including material lists and measurements
- Evaluate technical offers from suppliers and provide documentation required by official administration bodies
- Support construction managers during the execution phase of works
Requirements
- University degree in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical lines
- C1 level proficiency in English
- Expertise in the design of electrical and underground lines, including electrical/mechanical calculations and grounding systems
- Proficiency in design software such as PLS-CADD and Tower for support optimization
- Proficiency in CYMCAP for power cable calculation and optimization
- Strong knowledge of High Voltage Electrical Line Regulations and complementary technical instructions
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of GIS tools such as Pathfinder or QGIS
- Familiarity with overhead cables, insulators, fittings, and power cable accessories
- Knowledge of topographic techniques and Lidar
- Experience in construction management
- Understanding of Health and Safety, environmental, and quality standards
