Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control system maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable plant performance.
• Develop and execute maintenance strategies for preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered programs.
• Ensure high availability of electrical distribution systems, PLCs, DCS/SCADA systems, and process control systems.
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations to minimize downtime and optimize asset lifecycles.
• Ensure compliance with South African regulations (OHSA, pressure equipment) and Air Liquide engineering standards.
• Lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary maintenance teams and contractors.
• Manage E&I maintenance budgets, cost control, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Support digital transformation, remote monitoring, and smart maintenance technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronic Engineering.
• 8-10 years of maintenance experience in industrial, petrochemical, manufacturing, or energy environments.
• 5 years of experience in a leadership or maintenance management role.
• Strong technical experience with PLC, SCADA, DCS, and electrical distribution systems.
• Proficiency with CMMS systems such as SAP PM or Maximo.
• Strong knowledge of reliability engineering and asset management principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Factories).
• Trade Test in Electrical or Instrumentation discipline.
• Experience with industrial gas operations, cryogenic systems, or bulk gas facilities.
