Electrical Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform site electrical inspections for traffic signals and roadway lighting projects in Ontario.
• Conduct field inspections of commercial electrical projects to ensure compliance with building codes and design requirements.
• Monitor electrical construction under Contract Administrator and issue notices of violation or corrective actions when necessary.
• Collaborate with contractors, designers, and owners to explain code requirements and ensure compliance.
• Review routing requests and prepare detailed reports regarding inspection findings, complaints, and follow-up visits.
• Investigate and resolve special complaints or technical problems concerning electrical systems.
• Interpret and explain pertinent information regarding electrical installation and construction requirements, including the Ontario Provincial and Canadian Electrical Code.
• Perform general civil and roadway inspections as needed, with training provided.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with 4+ years of experience as an Electrician/Technician, OR an Associate College Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-3 years of experience.
• Valid Ontario Electrician Technician License.
• Valid Ontario full Driver's license to perform field inspections.

Preferred Qualifications

• IMSA Technician or Inspector Certification.
• Knowledge of broadband Fiber Optics and communications construction, maintenance, and implementation.
