General Matter enriches uranium. We are designing, building, and operating the world’s lowest-cost enrichment services, here in the US, to restore America’s ability to produce nuclear fuel for AI, advanced manufacturing, and critical industries.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, analyze, test, and evaluate electrical equipment and systems ranging from low-voltage DC to high-voltage three-phase systems
  • Analyze and design onsite power generation systems including microgrids, natural gas generators, and integrated backup power systems
  • Evaluate electrical load profiles and energy demands to develop optimized onsite generation strategies
  • Support operation, maintenance, and improvement of facility systems such as grounding, lighting protection, fire alarms, and UPS
  • Support the planning, design, and implementation of electrical control systems and modifications
  • Develop detailed specifications and design documentation for contractors and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with and receive mentorship from senior engineers on complex power and control projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar discipline
  • Evidence of exceptional ability through prior projects or portfolio of work
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems architecture, circuit design, I&C systems, power systems, or grid management
  • Ability to perform trade studies using first principles and engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of design experience designing electronics (including research or extracurricular academic projects)
  • Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Ability to design and analyze electrical systems in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Experience in circuit design and analysis
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Experience with asset management
  • Proficiency in learning new analysis methodologies and simulation tools
